This following document sets forth the Privacy Policy for the My School Connect website, http://myschoolconnect.com.au and our mobile applications.

It does not apply to, and we are not responsible for, the use of, or the protection of information provided to, other websites or services linked to our website or that you use to access our website, applications or services.

My School Connect is committed to providing you with the best possible customer service experience. My School Connect is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), which sets out a number of principles concerning the privacy of individuals.

Collection of your personal information

There are many aspects of the site which can be viewed without providing personal information, however, for access to create a store or make purchases you are required to submit personally identifiable information. This may include but not limited to a unique username and password, or provide sensitive information in the recovery of your lost password. It may include information about your children at the school, and credit card information.

For schools that integrate with My School Connect via a School Management System (SMS), identifiers including but not limited to parent code, name, and email address will be collected by My School Connect.

Sharing of your personal information

We may occasionally hire other companies to provide services on our behalf, including but not limited to handling customer support enquiries, processing transactions or customer freight shipping. Those companies will be permitted to obtain only the personal information they need to deliver the service. My School Connect takes reasonable steps to ensure that these organisations are bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations in relation to the protection of your personal information.

Use of your personal information

We may use the information we collect from you when you register, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

For each visitor to reach the site, we expressively collect the following non-personally identifiable information, including but not limited to browser type, version and language, operating system, pages viewed while browsing the Site, page access times and referring website address. All credit card transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

My School Connect complies with the Australian Privacy Act (1988) and the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme (Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988).

In line with the NDB, My School Connect has a data breach policy in place. In the event of a serious data breach, My School Connect will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and the affected individuals where required. Notification of a data breach may take the form of an email or a notice on our website.

You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons. In most cases, My School Connect will provide this free of charge, and within three months. However, My School Connect may charge a fee for searching for and providing your information if your request is particularly complex or extensive. You will be informed about any costs prior to My School Connect proceeding with your request.
